The quest for Christian unity in the world, "That they may all be one" (John 17:21), inspires the faith and shapes the life of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The ELCA Ecumenical and Inter-Religious Relations has the task of assisting this church in that quest.

A Special Event on Reformation Sunday Celebrated the Full Communion Agreement between the United Methodist Church and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
The full communion agreement between the United Methodist Church (UMC) and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) was celebrated at a special festive worship service on the campus of Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Celebrations will continue in the country through 2010.
