Leadership

A Commitment to Shared Leadership

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has interdependent leadership through each of its three expressions—10,000-plus congregations, 65 synods, and one churchwide organization. Each expression works together, under the guidance of the Churchwide Assembly and Church Council, to ensure a strong foundation of leadership that enables faithful proclamation of the gospel and expressive worship, community involvement, open dialogue and a culture of support for our nearly five million members.
